It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join us at our 2021 conference in Gore. The conference will take place 22 – 24 April at the Heartland Hotel Croydon.

The theme of the conference is Interconnected Communities.

As in the past, we’ll be offering a quality range of keynote speakers as well as informative workshops delivered by Community Board members with stories and experiences to share.

And we know you all enjoy the social events, allowing for networking and further interconnecting. We encourage you to take some extra time and explore this stunning part of Aotearoa.

Mayoral Welcome for NZ Community Boards Conference

On behalf of the residents of the Gore District, I have much pleasure in welcoming you to the New Zealand Community Board’s annual conference.

Throughout New Zealand communities such as ours rely on people to step in the local government arena to work for a better future for all. Being a community board member is not a role envied by many, but it is an extremely important one to ensure small communities get the representation they deserve around their respective council tables.

As councils face increasing challenges and work to fulfill their obligations in terms of four well-beings – social, environmental, economic and cultural priority – it is vital people such as yourselves stand up for your towns.

While I appreciate you will be committed to conference activities during your time here, I guarantee it would be worth your while to have a look around our District. We are proud of the quality and variety of amenities we are able to offer, so I know you will not be disappointed.

In closing, I wish you an enjoyable and productive conference. Thank you again for choosing us as your host.

Tracy Hicks
Gore District Council
